As the excitement builds for Africa Fashion Week London (AFWL) 2024, the organizers are thrilled to announce the Lagos State Government as sponsors and official partners of this year’s event. This partnership marks a significant milestone for AFWL and the African fashion industry as a whole, according to Queen Ronke Ademiluyi Ogunwusi, Founder of Africa Fashion Week London.

Queen Ronke emphasized that Lagos is not just a city; it’s a hub of creativity, innovation, and style. “Our fashion industry is thriving, showcasing African talent and aesthetics to the world,” she stated. From bustling markets like Balogun, Allen, and Tejuosho to high-end boutiques in Victoria Island and Ikoyi, Lagos offers a diverse shopping experience that highlights its vibrant fashion scene.

She also noted that Lagos, Nigeria’s largest city and Africa’s fashion capital, has hosted various fashion events, making the state’s support for AFWL particularly commendable. “Lagos State is a leading fashion tourism destination in Africa. With their support, we can unlock our full potential and showcase African and Nigerian creativity and style on a global stage,” she added.

This year’s AFWL event is set to take place on October 11-12 at the Kensington and Chelsea Event Centre, promising to be an even bigger and better affair. Mrs. Toke Benson Awoyinka, the Lagos State Commissioner for Tourism, Arts and Culture, will represent the Lagos Government and deliver the keynote address, setting the tone for an incredible two-day fashion and culture extravaganza.
