An indigenous media organisation, CR- Media, has called on intending practitioners in the film industry to take advantage of the ongoing free intensive one-month filmmaking training, so as to actualise their dreams of becoming professionals in the entertainment industry.

The chief executive of the organisation, Mr. Thompson Aaron, who made the call during the filmmaking training at Bayelsa Tech Hub, Yenagoa, disclosed that it would help Bayelsans who are interested in the movie industry to have an understanding of filmmaking and connect them to influential personalities in the industry.

Aaron said the training which cuts across acting, editing, script-writing and cinematography will enable participants to produce Ijaw-based films by preserving the rich cultural heritage of the Ijaw people as well as promote entrepreneurship among youths of the state.

Two veteran actors in the Nollywood industry, Mr. Steve Ahanonu and Mr. Elaweremi Pereke, advised the participants to take the training seriously because opportunities would be created for committed participants to partake in the Nollywood industry.

Some participants appreciated the organisers for creating an opportunity for them to learn the nitty-gritty of filmmaking, and encouraged others who are also interested to take advantage of the opportunity provided by CR-Media

A governor’s office aide, Benson Agiobua, commended the organisers for the initiative, saying it would help reduce the crime rate in the society through employment opportunities for the participants.
