The Enugu State Command of the Nigeria Police Force through its operatives in its Trans Ekulu Division have launched an investigation into an allegation of constant torture of a 14 year-old boy, Kelechi Goodluck Okeke by his father, identified as Chinedu Okeke.
According to the Police Public Relations Officer, Enugu State Command, Ebere Amarizu, Okeke was arrested when eyewitnesses alerted the police who stormed his residence and found his son, tied up and with various degrees of injuries through battery all over his body
.“It was gathered that Chinedu was always in the habit of subjecting his son to various inhuman treatment such as forcing him to kneel on a stone with his hands tied and massive flogging using wire and other dangerous objects.”
The abused boy, narrated his ordeal, stating that for about one month now, he has been undergoing different forms of inhuman treatment in the hands of his father.
In his own defence, Chinedu blamed the entire situation on the devil. He, however, maintained that his motive was to discipline his child whom he accused of being stubborn.
