President Muhammadu Buhari has promised Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State that he would use his power as the president and Commander-In-Chief of the Armed Forces of the country to deal with security challenges in Imo State.
President Buhari who made the promise on Thursday while commissioning the Egbeada-Onitsha bypass road in Owerri, Imo State capital, also promised to assist the Governor deal with infrastructural deficits in the state, saying that he was impressed with the level of development in the state.
Mr. President said that no society would progress exponentially in the face of insecurity and infrastructural deficits; adding that his vision of having a secured Nigeria with huge infrastructural progress had marched with Governor Uzodinma work in the state.
“I have gone round and I am impressed with what I saw. A society without security and infrastructure will not progress and lucky this is where my vision has tallied with the governor of Imo state. I will use my power as enshrined by the constitution to make the governor achieve more,” Buhari said.
Governor Uzodimma earlier in his speech urged President Buhari to deal permanently with the insecurity issues and flooding which according to him, was ravaging Owerri.
