Police Rescue abandoned child in Ebonyi

Police in Ebonyi State have rescued a 9-month-old baby girl abandoned at Ebonyi Riverside in Ezzillo Community, Ishielu Local Government Area of the State. 

The Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, DSP Loveth Odah, who confirmed the development said the girl was sighted by a farmer who alerted the police operatives attached to Ishielu Division who rescued the child and handed her over to the gender unit of the State Police Command. 

According to DSP Odah, the State Commissioner of Police, CP Aliyu Garba has directed that the baby be given proper medical attention and taken to a government welfare facility for custody and proper care.

The CP also assured the general public that the Command will continue to collaborate with all the relevant government agencies and non-government bodies in fighting against inhuman acts and other social vices in Ebonyi State.
