Executive chairman of Kano Pillars management board, Alhaji Surajo Shaibu Yahaya, has expressed ‘rude shock’ over the hefty B7.5m sanction handed to his club by the League Management Company LMC, in the aftermath of the ugly scenes that overshadowed their match day 27 fixture against Akwa Utd.

LMC had on Monday following ratification of their summary jurisdiction by NFF emergency meeting communicated the Sai Masu Gida side that for breachng the Covid-19 protocols and other portions of the Rules and Framework of the league, they will have to pay a total sum of N7.5m as fine.

LMC was irked that Pillars allowed spectators into the stadium who later encroached into the pitch during their match-day 27 fixture with Akwa United at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium on Sunday.

But the chairman of the club, Yahaya, said the hierarchy of the club was surprised after they received the verdict.

He said that verdict was already in the media before the club was officially served.

“We received the verdict that LMC is charging us for breaching the covid-19 Protocol by permitting the spectators into the match venue and encroachment during the match with a fine of over seven million naira but we are studying the judgement for our final decision,” the chairman said.

“On the issue of failure to provide adequate security in the Stadium, we need clarification on whose responsibility it is between the club and football Association to provide security in the Stadium”.

The Pillars boss said since the Sai Masu Gida side moved to Ahmadu Bello Stadium Kaduna as their adopted home ground this season, they have been providing all the logistics requested by Kaduna state Football Association.

He insisted that Kano Pillars Fc didn’t sell tickets and didn’t invite anybody to be in the stadium.
