PFN to Buhari: Engage agitators in peaceful dialogue

The Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), Anambra State Chapter has called on the President Muhammadu Buhari-led Federal Government to engage all agitators in the country in a peaceful dialogue.

The State’s Chapter of the group, Bishop Moses Ezedebego made the call while addressing reporters in a World Press Conference held on Tuesday in Amawbia, Awka South Local Government Area.

Ezedebego said that ideological dialogue solves any form of challenges faced by any group of people, government or organization as opposed to tactful neglect which always leaves trace of bickering.

He therefore called on the government to ideologically listen to all sides of the agitators and resolve every issues ranging from unemployment, insecurity, social and economic problems that has remained unresolved which he said triggers agitation.

According to him, “Marginalization, suppression or coercive actions in addressing national issues would never yield positive results. We need actions that would unify the nation, all sides need to be heard for total peace to be gained,” he said

The bishop said that PFN would hold its annual prayer rally on September 17 where all the 179 communities of the State would be represented and as well extend its invitations to members of the public.

He also disclosed that the National President of PFN in the country, Bishop Wale Oke would lead the prayer session with other leaders of the body and its members across the country.

‘We are going to pray for the unity and progress of the nation and a special session of prayers for Anambra because of its governorship election on November 6.

“We need an impeccable candidate to govern the affairs of the State after the present governor completes its tenure in March 2022.

“We need special prayers for Anambra because of its strategic nature in South-East, we need peace and smooth hand over. Therefore, God must be invited to the lead,” he said.

Ezedebego said that PFN congratulate all candidates of various political parties that has emerged the flag bearers and appealed to the candidates to play by the rules and shun any form of electoral malpractices.

He urged the youth to resist any political candidate that would employ them as political tool to destabilize the electoral process.

“Youths arm yourselves with your voters card, vote a candidate of your choice and reject electoral flaws and save the State from bad leadership.

Ezedebego  said that PFN have not endorsed any candidate in any political party , to replace governor Willie Obiano in the November 6 election as being speculated.

He said that they are gender free and that any candidate that proved his or her worth would be voted for irrespective of the gender.

“We have emphasized that Anambra needs a God-fearing man, a good manager of resources, a man of impeccable character and humanity. We need a governor for everybody, someone that will carry everybody along. We are praying for the right candidate to take over Anambra on Nov. 6, 2021.

The Chairman, announced the inauguration of “PFN for Good Governance Committee headed by Dr. Amaechi Nwachukwu, to help galvanize and ensure good representation of the people in the governance of the State. 

He said that the leadership of the PFN commended Anambra government on its purposeful and  developmental leadership in the state and urged the government not to relent on its democratic leadership.

Nwachukwu  said that the body has repositioned itself to be part of political activities in the State because they have the numbers  and human structures  needed to engage in political activities.
