An Onitsha based oil business executive, C.U Mbaji has described Anambra State governor, Willie Obiano’s Silverbird Man of the Year award as a clear manifestation of the governor’s value-driven leadership and result-oriented administration.
Sharing his thoughts with newsmen recently in his Onitsha office, Mbaji pointed out that the governor’s giant strides in all sectors of the economy and his exploits particularly in education, agriculture, infrastructure and security stand him out among his contemporaries and endears him to many.
According to Mbaji, Obiano’s Four Wheels of Development and their Enablers and his Joint Security Network revitalized all sectors, brought unprecedented development, turned around the economic fortunes of the state, gave a boost to industrialization and commerce and brought water tight security in Anambra thereby setting kidnappers and other criminals on the run.
In his words,“All these developmental programmes and feats have attracted many awards to the governor; the Sun Governor Award, Awards from the Catholic Organizations, from the Chartered Accountants of Nigeria and this time the Silver Bird Man of the year 2016 Award.
“Willie Obiano administration met all the conditions required for these awards which were purely on merit.
“These awards are not for the governor alone, but for the entire Anambra state, the South East and indeed all lovers of equity, justice and fairness, who believe in the prudent management of resources as well as all those who see the welfare of the citizens as important”.
The business mogul recalled the developmental efforts of governor Obiano since he assumed office in March, 2014, his welfarist programmes and policies, his economic stimulus package to the low income earners to cushion the effect of the present economic recession in the country and remarked that all these achievements are clear evidence of his good governance.
Mbaji maintained that from all indications the governor will receive more awards from more reputable organizations before the end of his first tenure.
He noted that those rare attributes of good governance are contained in his administration’s policies and programmes, such policies as protection of lives and properties of the citizenry, care for their welfare and provision of succor to the physically challenged and other vulnerable members of the society including the less privileged.
C.U. Mbaji then called on the citizens of the state to give unalloyed support to the Obiano administration to enable it maintain the present high tempo of development which has made the state the envy of all policy makers in other states of the federation.
He then enjoined the governor to remain undaunted in his zeal and spirit to make Anambra state second to none in terms of socio-economic development and urged him to step up efforts in his programmes of curbing and ameliorating unemployment by pursuing more vigorously his skill acquisition policies and entrepreneurship programmes.
