Northern Conference group A2 campaigners, Zamfara United Football Club of Gusau, have been mandated by the Nigeria National League, NNL, to, without failure, ensure they honoured the Match Day 1 fixture against Malumfashi Football Club of Katsina.
The match, the first in the 2020/2021 season, was not played as scheduled following the late arrival of match officials, which prompted a shift to the next day before time of the match became an issue by both teams.
The NNL had waded into the matter and Zamfara wrote requesting a two weeks grace to play the match which was granted them and went on to reschedule the match for Thursday 29 July, 2021.
Shockingly, Zamfara United again, in a fresh correspondence requested for the match yet again, to be moved further, less than 48 hours to the game.
NNL therefore, has firmly communicated the management of Zamfara United Football to as a matter of importance; comply with the strong directive to avoid the match not holding as scheduled for Thursday 29 July, 2021.
The game will hold at the approved pitch in Malumfashi, the Township Stadium, Katsina State.
The NNL further urged the Katsina State Football Association, the home team – Malumfashi Football club and away team – Zamfara United to guarantee the match was played strictly behind closed doors, with full observation of Covid-19 Protocols.
NNL wants the clubs to note that necessary logistics have been put in place for the successful hosting and organization of the delayed match.
The match which is long overdue and the week 17 game involving, Malumfashi versus Kogi United with the Nigeria Football Federation’s Organizing and Disciplinary Committee, is withholding the conclusion of matches in the group for the season.
