The Coalition of South East Youth Leaders, (COSEYL), a socio-political youth organisation in the South-East region of Nigeria, has urged security operatives in Nigeria to fish out those responsible for the killing of innocent citizens of Nimbo in Uzo Uwani local government area of Enugu state.
About four persons were killed in a recent attack on the community, by suspected Fulani herdsmen, while 10 others were declared missing.
This is the second time in 2021 that murderous Fulani terrorists parading, as herdsmen are attacking the community for not allowing them graze their cattle on their farm settlements.
The group in a statement signed by Hon. Goodluck Ibem, it’s president general, and Kenice Igwe, secretary general, COSEYL, urged the Department of Security Services, (DSS) to move into action and arrest those killer Fulani terrorists and bring them to justice.
According to the statement, “the law is not a respecter of persons. So, the DSS should move immediately to apprehend the murderous Fulani terrorists that killed the people of Nimbo community on Monday, July 26, 2021.
They called on the good people of Nimbo community and other communities in the South East geopolitical zone to immediately mobilise their youths and guard their communities to avoid a repeat of the recent attack on Nimbo community.
This is as they also urged Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi to immediately form a strong and active indigenous security outfits to guard border towns of Enugu state, to avert another invasion of the state.
“The state governors of Southern Nigeria should stamp their feet on the ground and enforce the ban on open grazing, otherwise nobody will take them serious and they will be subject of caricature in future.
“What happened at Nimbo community happened, because the leader of Miyetti Allah, Bello Abdullahi Bodejo, openly instructed his members to disregard the resolution of Southern State Governors in banning open grazing.
“Bodejo and his murderous Fulani herdsmen/terrorists should be arrested with his killer gangs, parading as herdsmen for the killings at Nimbo community in Enugu state.
“This brazen madness of killing innocent Nigerians for refusing Fulani herdsmen/terrorists to feed on farmers crops must stop forthwith.”
COSEYL called on the international community to come to the aid of Christians and people of Southern Nigerian, who have been marked for extermination without the federal government doing anything to stop the massacre of innocent farmers and Christians.
