About N1.5bn has been approved by the Ebonyi State government for the construction of 26 modern school buildings across the State.
The State’s Commissioner for Information and State Orientation, Orji Uchenna Orji disclosed this in Abakaliki while briefing journalists on the outcome of the weekly State Executive Council meeting.
He said the government also set up a committee to ensure the smooth construction of the school buildings.
“EXCO did approve the construction of 26 ultra-modern school buildings which will have modern facilities. EXCO also did approve the securing of N1.5bn to enable the State government to embark upon this wonderful construction of modern school blocks for our schools.
“Considering the importance attached to it, EXCO did constitute a committee headed by Rev. Fr. Abraham Nwali. The duty of this committee will be to ensure that the right choice of schools is made and also the location is very critical”, he said.
