Traditional Rulers of land donors to Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike (MOUAU) and National Root Crops Research Institute (NRCRI) from Oboro clan in Ikwuano LGA and Olokoro clan in Umuahia South LGA of Abia state, have donated some relief materials to their subjects to support them overcome the COVID-19 pandemic and its challenges
The traditional rulers of land donors communities, out of their magnanimity, handed down the materials to the vulnerable persons within their reach.
Speaking during the distribution of the food items, including bags of rice, beans and cartons of noddles worth millions of Naria at the palace of their chairman and traditional ruler of Awom-na-ebo kingdom in Ikwuano LGA, Eze Christopher Ejirika, the monarch said the association under the umbrella of Traditional Rulers of Land Donors Association, came in agreement to use the palliative to support government in providing succour to their subjects and encouraged them to continue to obey government’s directives and those of health professionals.
Eze Onwuka, while expressing optimism that the world would soon overcome the pandemic, used the occasion to appeal to the well to do in the society, institutions and groups to assist the vulnerable around them.
