The United States of America chapter of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, (APGA), has lambasted Nigerian security agents for the killing of some members of the Indigenous People of Biafra,IPOB on 20th January in Port Harcourt River State for supporting the inauguration of the 45th America President, Donald Trump.

It would be recalled that IPOB 11 unarmed IPOB members, were supposedly killed by security agents and many sustained bullet wound injuries even when the Nigerian police had said that no member of the group was killed that its men employed minimum force to disperse them.

Ibiam Okwukwe, the secretary of the party in the USA in a press statement, United State described the killing of IPOB members by security agents in the country as uncivil and unprofessional.

He bemoaned a situation where a country like Nigeria at the age of 56 could not provide an atmosphere for citizens of the state to pursue their aspirations uninhibited, stressing that the killing resulting from people having divergent viewpoints was condemnable.

The statement read, “the reason for their divergent views is that the status quo has not worked for them. It did not work for the previous generation before them, either. How do you expect them to have faith? Democracy demands that the government should listen. Democracy is plurality.

“Suppression of opinions anywhere in the world has never worked. Those opinions only pop up in other areas where the government may not like their soiled linens displayed.

“Igbo issues were not going away anytime soon and the Federal Government must find a way to embrace and incorporate the obvious into the mainstream by peacefully taking a firm study of multi-ethnic nations rather than its clamping down tactics that would never work”, he stressed.

The APGA scribe further condemned the secret trial of the IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu and warned the FG to address the issues Kanu was representing, saying, “it is evident that he is not operating from a vacuum.

“With the current situation in the country, All Progressives Congress (APC) can only be looking at a one-term Presidency.  No sane Nigerian can vote the ruling party. Nobody should send a clueless APC administration back to Abuja.  The country is clearly worse off than it was one and half years ago. The APC brain trust has no panacea for Nigerian ills”
