Abia state governor, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu, has inaugurated the Ntigha-Umuopara-Amano Phase 1 Road in Obingwa local government area.
Ikpeazu, at the event, noted that the road would improve the economy of the people of the area, disclosing that the entire ring road being constructed around the area will get to Itu community.
He observed that the road was unique because it was constructed by a contractor from the same community and assured that it would last.
The governor who also flagged off the construction of the Amano-Mbaukwu road, called on the youths of the area to provide security for the road construction workers, insisting that the road would be solidly done.
Abia state deputy governor, Ude Oko Chukwu, saluted the governor for the numerous projects done by him in the state, including an ultra-modern cottage hospital in Nkporo, in Ohafia local government area.
Elder Bob Ogu, state’s commissioner for works, stated that the governor would complete all the road projects before he leaves office in 2023, informing that more of such projects are in the offing.
Contributing, the PDP state chairman, Asiforo Okere, described the governor as a true PDP man, who knows how to build people and infrastructure, noting that the party is proud of him.
