Rivers United experienced goalkeeper, Theophilus Afelokhai has blamed media reports on his suspension by The Pride of Rivers for being left out of senior national team, Super Eagles, by manager Gernot Rohr.
Afelokhai told brila.net that the reports of his suspension by Rivers united came at the period he should have gotten an invite to the National team.“I was to be called in to the national team when a lot of noise was going about in the new media about suspension”,
“I believed that time I was doing well, and it was my time to be called in but when the information came that I was suspended – the team handlers have to move on.
“I was not happy for what transpired then, but today I have forgiven whoever started the rumors, I have to move on with my career because I don’t believe that anyone can stop me from moving forward”, the former Kano Pillars captain lamented.
Afelokhai career had revolved around top clubs in the domestic scene with spells at Kano Pillars and Enyimba before penning a deal with Rivers United.
