Nigeria Professional Football League, NPFL side, Heartland of Owerri, appear ready to roll in the coming 2020/2021 domestic top flight after overcoming its internal strife, Orient Sports reports.
The once dreaded Naze Millionaires were on the fastest lane of self destruction following a prolonged internal feud over the soul of the four time Niveria Champions.

Following Governor Hope Uzodinma’s intervention, peace has finally come to bear in the 2009 CAF Champions League finalists with the confirmation of Chief Chukwudi Ifeanyi as the General Manager of the club.

And in a move suggestive of ‘house cleaning exercise’, the hierarchy of the club have reorganised the manavement set up as the club gets set to challenge effectively in the NPFL which gets underway on December 6.

Orient Sports checks reveal that the appointment of Victor ‘Terminator’ Ezuruike as the Team Manager of the club is the high point of the administrative changes that swept through the club in the aftermath of the crisis that swept through the club.

Ezuruike, a center back during his illustrious career days, was captain of the club when they reached the CAF Champions League final in 2009, losing to TP Mazembe of Congo DR on away goal rule following a 2-2 aggregate scoreline.

‘Terminator, our checks reveal, replaces Mobi Oparaku, a 1996 U23 Eagles Olympic gold medalist in Atlanta. Oparaku has been redeployed as the club’s Scouting Officer.

Similarly, Tonex Chukwu, a one time spokesman of rival club, Enyimba, has returned to the Heartland management and will now serve as the club’s Licensing Officer.

Former Sporting Director and a Nigeria junior international, Promise Nwachukwu, has now been moved to the position of Coordinator just as a new image maker has been appointed to launder the image of the ‘Arugo Boys’.

The new image maker is Cosmas Chukwuemeka who until his latest appointment was on the payroll of Darling FM, Owerri.

Coach Fidelis Ilechukwu and his Heartland charges will get their 2020/2021 NPFL season underway on December 6 with a trip to Katsina United before hosting Nasarawa United in a match day two fixture.
