As conduct of political party primaries hot up this June in Anambra state, the state chairman of Christians Association of Nigeria, CAN, Ven. Joseph Nweke, yesterday demanded free, fair and credible primaries from the parties.Making the demand during the World Fathers’ day celebration, held at Emmanuel Anglican Church, Onitsha, Inland Town Archdiocese, Anambra state, the cleric stressed the need for fathers to prevent their children from political thuggery.“I am telling our fathers to talk to their children not to be used as political thugs because thugs are never recognised in any government.Whenever you play thuggery after the election they will push you away because nobody wants to put irresponsible person in his government.”“If you package yourself very well they will make you commissioner or something else. So, fathers should advise their children to run away from thuggery; it does not pay. It is a hit and run thing.”He said “you can never see a thug who is a commissioner, and as such, fathers should re-engineer their fatherhood.”On the twitter ban by the federal government, Ven. Nweke stated that, “the world today is world of social media.Fathers should be in tune with the happenings of this century. You can’t use analogue now. It has gone. We are in the digital world.”“Those who say they don’t want social media are those of yesterday.”He stressed the need for both the government and individuals to embrace social media for update on socio-economic and political affairs.A resource person at the event, Comrade Vincent Ezekwueme, had, in his lecture to fathers, reminded them that their children would  always emulate whatever thing they do.

He condemned the attitude of fathers who do not have time to look after their children and the company they keep, adding that things start from family and get to the world.
