Fatai Osho has attributed his Enyimba’s 1-1 draw with Akwa United in an NPFL Match Day 12 clash in Aba on Wednesday as a result of fatigue.
A visibly sad Enyimba coach could not hide his displeasure with the result.
“Very painful one, the way and manner we conceded that goal is quite demoralizing. I see no reason why we have to concede at that time.”
He said Enyimba played against Rivers United in the CAF Confederations Cup on Sunday in a thrilling clash, saying that had an effect on the team going into the clash against Akwa United tie. He further revealed that his team did not play to their potential.
“I have to look more into that if it is fatigue or whatever, but to me I know they did not play to their potential, they looked sluggish”.
Osho acknowledged that Enyimba has more players in the squad and promised to rotate the team
“We need to rest some players, it is quite important and you can see that Nelson Ogbonnaya that started the first half could not continue, he suffered a hamstring and we had to take him out, maybe we have to do a little bit of rotation also.
“They have been playing too many matches lately. It is so clear that they looked a bit tired.”
