Semifinalist have emerged in the maiden edition of Coach IK Unity Cup Football Tournament 2021, Orient Sports reports.
After the conclusion of the quarter final matches on Sunday at the Manus Comprehensive School field, Okpoko, Ogbaru LGA, near Onitsha, four teams, Ozala Football Club, Global FC and All Star (1&2) sealed their places in the last four stage of the tournament.
Ozala edged FC Estate 2-0 in their quarter final clash while Global outscored Unity FC 4-2 on penalty kicks after a scoreless regulation time.
All Star (1) defeated Angel FC while All Star (2) edged past Sankers FC, Obosi 4-2 on penalties following a goalless draw AT full time.
According to organisers of the money-spinning tournament, semifinal matches have bien scheduled to hold this weekend.
In the first semifinal, Global FC will slug it out with All Star FC (1) on Saturday, July 24, 2021.
On Sunday July 25, it will be the turn of Ozala FC and All Star (2) to determine who gets the bragging right to play in the final.
Orient Sports understands that the winner of the tournament will be rewarded with N150,000 as well as a trophy.
Runners-up will smile home with N100, 000 just as the third best team will receive N50, 000.
There will also be rewards for the tournament’s Most Valuable Player (MVP), highest Goal Scorer and Best-Behaved Team of the tournament.
All the semifinalists will also receive a set of jersey each from the tournament sponsor and cup donor.
