The two persons abducted on Friday evening along Ayetoro-Ekiti and Ewu-Ekiti in Ilejemeje local government area of Ekiti State have regained their freedom.
According to sources, the gunmen had earlier contacted the family members of their victims demanded N50 million before they could let the two victims off the hook, Orient Daily. However, it was gathered that the two persons were released yesterday (Tuesday) at around 7:50pm at Ikun-Ekiti, Moba local government area of the state. Orient Daily gathered that the victims were drove down to the heart of the town and dropped them in the town, as the victims went to the palace of the Onikun of Ikun-Ekiti where they were received by the monarch.
As at the time of filling this report, Orient Daily can report that ransom were paid but the amount actually paid to the abductors have not been disclosed. The police public relations officer in the state, ASP Sunday Abutu when contacted to confirm the release of the victims said he would confirm to know the veracity of the claim and the circumstances surrounding their freedom, Orient Daily reports.
