The All Progressive Congress, APC, in Anambra State has debunked rumour making the rounds of plans by some aspirants for the November 6 governorship election to quit the party.
The State Publicity Secretary of the party, Okelo Madukaife, who made the clarification in a statement during the weekend, warned those peddling the rumor to desist forthwith, just as he urged the public to disregard such rumour.
The statement read, “Our great party is in touch with all its 14 governorship aspirants for 2021 and can confirm that none of them has given any indication to quit our great party.
“We know for sure that every society harbours opportunists who climb on little domestic challenges to foster their own agenda.
“However, APC, despite its own internal challenges now at an advanced stage of resolution will triumph after the Tempest.
“Those opposition forces who are leaving the log in their own eyes to see the speck in other eyes are therefore advised to stop pushing out information that no one can take responsibility for, into the social media space, and face the business of telling the voters in Anambra State how their manifestos, where they exist trump the beautiful one APC has, alongside its accomplishments.
“As a clue to the general public, please avoid all information relating to APC, where the name of the writer is not stated and there is no indication as to source.
“We wish Anambra State well and trust that the state will maintain its new found resolve to base the choice of a new governor on November 6, 2021 on issues.”
