Police in Ogun State have arrested an 18-year-old boy, Jamiu Malomo, for allegedly stabbing one Azeezat Akande to death after having carnal knowledge with her in Adatan area of the state.

The suspect, an ex-convict, was said to have stabbed Akande, a runs girl, in the neck following a disagreement that ensured between him and the prostitute after sleeping with her.

Malomo before taking the 28-year-old lady home for sexual pleasure, had agreed to pay her N10,000 but after having sex with her, he decided to pay her N8,000.

This resulted to serious argument between them and the suspect was forced to hand over his phone to the deceased and left the room in search of a knife which he used to murder her in cold blood and later fled.

He was arrested following a report lodged at Adatan Divisional Headquarters by the chairman, Ilupeju community, Oke Aregba, Abeokuta, that they woke up in the morning of Sunday, July 18, 2021, to discover a lifeless body of a young lady with a blood-stained knife beside her

Upon the report, the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, said that the DPO Adatan Division, SP Abiodun Salau, led his detectives to the scene where the corpse was evacuated and moved to state hospital, Ijaye mortuary.

The DPO and his crack detectives later embarked on intelligence and forensic investigations to unravel the mystery behind the gruesome murder of the deceased.

Their efforts paid off when they received an information that the suspect had been sighted at about 11:45 pm, on Thursday, July 22, 2021, at a bar in Panseke area of Abeokuta, where he was trying to pick another runs girl.

The detectives quickly moved in there and got him arrested. The suspect who was just released from the prison a month ago, confessed to killing the victim after interrogation, saying that he picked the deceased from Panseke and took her home for sexual pleasure.

He said, “After having carnal knowledge of the victim, the victim demanded for the N10,000 which was their agreement, but he refused to give her because he had only eight thousand naira with him.

“This led to hot argument between them. He then gave his phone to the deceased to hold and wait for him on the road to go and bring the money for her.

“While the deceased was waiting, the suspect came back with a knife unknown to the victim, and stabbed her deeply on her neck, resulting to the instant death of the deceased,” he added

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, CP Edward Ajogun, has ordered the immediate transfer of the suspect to homicide section of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID) for discreet investigation.
