The Commissioner of Police, Anambra State Command, Chris Owolabi has advised corps member to take responsibility for their security by taking necessary precautions including moving in peers and traveling only with due permission.
Owolabi gave the charge on Tuesday during an official visit to corps members of the 2021 Batch ‘B’ (Stream 1) Service year presently undergoing their orientation course at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Unity NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Umuawulu/Mbaukwu.
He recounted his experience as a corps member over three decades ago, expressing optimism of seeing the corps members holding high positions in the country in the near future.
“You must take responsibility for your security by taking necessary precautions. Insist on going out in peers and make sure you travel only when it is necessary and with due permission,” he added.
The CP thanked the NYSC Coordinator, Mrs. Yetunde Baderinwa and the camp management for the high-level discipline exhibited by the corps members, urging them to up the ante.
Responding on behalf of corps members, Corps Camp Director, Anyacho Darlington Ebuka thanked the CP for the visit, describing it as confidence building and morale booster for them.
