Men of the Safer Highway from Delta State Police Command operating along the Delta/Edo boundary have arrested one Davidson Edehede ‘M’ 34 of Ugbor road Ukpaka area of Warri with and recovered an AK 47 rifle with nine live ammunition.
A press release signed by the Delta State Police Public Relation Officer, PPRO, DSP Bright Edafe, stated that on August 23, 2021, at about 0700hrs, Safer-Highway Team stationed between Delta/Edo boundary, along the Sapele Benin road, while on a stop and search operation, intercepted a white colour Nissan Maxima with Reg. No. JJJ 494 ES.
The vehicle was flagged down for a search upon which, one AK47 rifle with breach No. 7165 with nine rounds of 7.62mm live ammunition were recovered from the suspect.
In a similar development, the police received intelligent information on the same August 23, at about 0700hrs that a cultist had been trailing one unnamed man.
Upon the information, the Raider Operatives of the State Police Command were detailed to investigate and unravel the person behind the threat. The investigation led to the arrest of one Ifeanyi Ajudia ‘m’ at Ibusa.
A search was conducted in the house and premise of the suspect where one locally fabricated beretta pistol without magazine was recovered.
Police said that investigation is ongoing in the two cases before they would be charged to court.
