Delta Police arrest school drop out for allegedly defiling teenage girl

The Police detectives attached to Ofuoma Police Division in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State in the early hours of yesterday arrested a Secondary School drop-out identified as Raphael Kotiko for allegedly defiling a teenager in the area. 

It was gathered that the police detectives who acted on intelligence gathering arrested the suspect who was alleged to have lured the minor, a ten year old girl (name withheld by us) into an uncompleted building where he allegedly had carnal knowledge of her amidst cries and tears.

His bubble was however bursted when the news of the illicit affairs was leaked to the police detectives by a small boy who allegedly watched the sexual intercourse between them out after his refusal to induce him.

 But the Police Public Relations Officer in the State, DSP Bright Edafe who confirmed the arrest of the suspect, said that after the report by the boy (name withheld), the girl’s parents went in search of their daughter, a situation she was found weeping indicating that she may have been defiled by the suspect.

DSP Edafe said, “We had the report from Ufuoma Police station and the subsequent arrest of the suspect who we were told threatened to kill the parents of the victim after she was confirmed by a doctor at the General hospital in Ughelli North that the girl was defiled by the suspect. He is currently being detained at Ufuoma Police station for further investigation and he will be charged to court for the offence upon completion of investigation”

Family members who spoke on condition of anonymity said that the victim is a primary four student of one of the public Primary Schools in Ughelli North adding that the victim was heavily injured by the suspect who was allegedly on drugs during the said sexual encounter.

Meanwhile, the Chairman of Bomadi Local Government Area of Delta State, Mr Williams Angadi with the leadership of the Christian Association of Nigeria ( CAN) have brainstormed on the way forward for security, development and well being of people living in riverine Communities. Apostle Liberty Usiayo spoke to Journalists on behalf of others, noted that security, infrastructural development and education were the main issues that prompted the meeting adding that they were ready to ensure the safety of lives and properties
