Former secretary to the government of the federation, Anyim Pius Anyim and the senator representing Ebonyi North at the National Assembly, Sam Egwu, Saturday
vowed that their party, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) will take over all the elective positions in the state in the 2023 elections.

The two PDP chieftains spoke in Abakaliki during an enlarged state executive council [SEC] meeting of the party in the state.

The party, at the meeting, zoned the party’s state championship position to Ebonyi south senatorial zone of the state

Anyim is also a former senate president while Egwu was the first civilian governor of the state.

Egwu, while addressing the party members, said “I want to assure that you will not be disappointed in your belief in PDP. By God’s grace by next elections, as usual, we shall take over all positions including the governorship.

“It has happened before, it has always been PDP for Ebonyi state and nothing can change it. I want you to remain steadfast, continue where you are, you are on the right part, you are on the right party and very soon, those who don’t believe will believe.”

Corroborating Egwu, Anyim said, “all I know is that Ebonyi Government House belongs to PDP. We put somebody there, he ran away. We will pick another person and put there in 2023.”

The member representing Ohaozara, Onicha and Ivo Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Livinus Makwe, said the party would sack the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) at the federal and state levels

“PDP will take over the federal government not just Ebonyi state in 2023 because PDP is a party that when they are in power, the people of Nigeria are happy and you see good things coming up.  But since these people came, it’s only killings that we are seeing. By 2023, all those things will become things of the past,” he opined.

The member representing Ezza South state constituency in the state House of Assembly, Chris Usulour also speaking, said the party will remain united to ensure overwhelming in 2023 elections.

Mr. Ali Odefa national vice chairman of the party, Southeast said that PDP had all it would take to win the state in 2023 and would resist the rigging of the general elections in Ebonyi  state, pointing out that the state had always voted PDP and would continue to do so.
His words, “do not panic, come 2023, no man born of woman can write result against PDP before you or write the result against us.”

The caretaker committee chairman of the party,  Fred Udeogu, maintained that the party was united and nothing would divide them.
