Mr. Valentine Ozigbo, a frontline governorship aspirant in the forthcoming Anambra gubernatorial election, has condemned the attack on Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, last Wednesday, during a town hall meeting at his home town, Isuofia, Anambra state.
Ozigbo made the condemnation in a statement by the Director, Strategy and Media, VCO Campaign Organisation, Hon. Valentine Ayika, and made available to newsmen in Awka, the Anambra state capital.
Orient Daily reports that the town hall meeting was invaded by gunmen resulting to death of three moblie police officers attached to Prof. Soludo.
The statement signed by the director reads in part, “the VCO campaign organisation condemns the attack on Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo by unknown gunmen on Wednesday, March 31, 2021.
“We pray for the repose of the souls of the slain policemen, and extended the organisation’s get well wishes to those that may have sustained injuries during the mayhem.
“The campaign organisation admonishes all concerned to always tow the part of peace and opt for amicable or legal settlement of disputes.
“Let us remember that human life is and should remain inviolable at all times and for whatever reasons”.
Ayika also appealed for the immediate and unconditional release of the Commissioner for Utility in the State, Engr. Emeka Ezenwanne.
