Mr. Ogbonnia Oko Enyum, the Special Assistant to the Ebonyi state Governor on School Monitoring, has resigned from his appointment. Oko Enyum, a former chairman of Afikpo North local government said in his resignation letter dated March 30, 2021 said Governor Umahi’s unfavorable disposition towards him in recent times made him realize that his place in his administration was no longer guaranteed.
He wrote: “Your Excellency, your preference to my younger sister to me for reasons best known to you have compelled me to take this decision to avoid rancor and acrimony. Against every known tradition and good conscience, your decision to interfere and deny me my right as the first son to organize a befitting burial for my father in line with my already concluded arrangements, after spending fortunes is not acceptable to me.
“I hereby resign my appointment as SA under your administration with immediate effect. Kindly accept the assurances of my warmest regards. Thanks for everything”.
Correspondent report that there have been some resignations in the Governor’s cabinet since he defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in November 2020.
