Two suspects arrested for stealing pastor’s car, phones

Police in Ogun state have arrested two members of an armed robbery syndicate for allegedly robbing one Pastor Godwin Ojerinde of God’s Will Praying Ground in Siun in Obafemi Owode local government area of the state.
The suspects, Oshilaru Bidoun, Tolulope Oluwafemi and three other members of their gang armed with guns and dangerous weapons were said to have broken into the pastor’s house at about 3:15 a.m on February 9, 2021 and dispossessed him of his vehicle and two handsets.
The police public relations officer, DSP, Abimbola Oyeyemi, said that the robbers broke into the pastor’s house, held his family hostage and ransacked every nooks and crannies of the house before they stole his pathfinder jeep with registration number WDE-38-MM, one Samsung A20 handset and one telephone handset.
Oyeyemi said that, on receiving the information, the DPO Owode-Egba division, CSP Mathew Ediae, and his crack detectives embarked on investigation to unravel those responsible for the heinous crime.
He said that the two robbers were nabbed after two weeks and that they confessed to being parts of the robbery syndicate involved in theft of the pastor’s handsets and car which they had sold to someone in Ogere area of the state with the vehicle already on its way to the North.
He said that detectives quickly swung into action and the vehicle was recovered in Mokwa, Niger state.
Meanwhile, the investigation continues at the state criminal investigation bureau while efforts continue to bring the fleeing members of the gang to book.
