Enyimba confirm Aba as venue for ‘break or bend’ CAFCC decisive clash vs Pirates
Aba, the commercial nerve center of the East and traditional home ground of the Enyimba has finally received the nod to stage the last group A match of the 2020/2021 CAF Confederation Cup between the People’s Elephant and Orlando Pirates of South Africa, Orient Sports can authoritatively report.
Enyimba will need a win of whatever margin to progress to the knock out stage of the tournament.
The African second tier inter club competition remains the only silverware still missing in the two time African Champions trophy shelf.
The match is scheduled to hold on Wednesday, April 28, 2021.
Just before their trip to Al Ahli Benghazi, there were huge uncertainty over the venue for the match.
As a result of Covid-19 concerns, Nigeria’s Presidential Task Force, PTF, insisted that the match may not take place in Nigeria, with unnamed neighboring country as possible venue.
But after the 1-0 defeat in Libya, a result that put Enyimba’s quarter finals qualification dream in danger, the Nigerian most successful club returned to base, yet unsure of where the game would take place.
However, on Monday morning the match confirmed that finally, they have reached understanding with PTF and that the match would be played in Aba at 10pm local on Wednesday.
