Relief as Nsukka town gets fumigated against Coronavirus

Residents of Nsukka may have heaved sigh of relief following widespread fumigation of streets, markets and hotels in the area by the Nsukka Local Government against Coronavirus- COVID-19.
The Council Chairman, Hon Patrick Omeje, ordered the fumigating exercise few days after the two cases of Coronavirus were confirmed in Enugu.
Orient Daily reporter gathered that places like Ogege market, Odenigbo road, local government areas, etc were equally fumigated. This paper also gathered that a COVID-19 Isolation Centre being established by the local government in Nsukka was nearing completion. The state governor, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi on Wednesday inspected the center.
Speaking to our reporter, Mrs Ugwu Veronica, a trader at the Ogige market expressed happiness over the situation and thanked the government for having taken such step in the fight against deadly diseases.
Onyedikachi a chop owner along university market road also showed happiness noted that it is a welcome development as the fumigation will be able to reduce the amount of infectious diseases lurking around the area.
Mr Ikechukwu Eke, an Economist, noted that Nsukka has become the safest place to be during the COVID-19 lockdown following the successful fumigation of the city and thanked the local government for putting such safety measures in place.
