“Shun Secession” —PDP Tells Ndigbo
By Jonathan Asikason
The People’s Democratic Party(PDP) has called upon groups with separatist agenda within the Igbo nation to sheath their swords and work for the peaceful and harmonious coexistence of subcultural nationalities in the Nigerian State.
The Party made this call through the voice of its Chairman, Board of Trustees, Sen. Walid Jubirin, at the occasion of the grand civic reception of Anambra State PDP Chairman, Hon. Ndubuisi Nwobu, held last weekend in Awka, Anambra State capital.
“You have contributed immensely to the Nigerian project and shouldn’t just secede,” Sen. Walid Jubirin declaimed. “You will need the North.”
He added: “Don’t Vote for APC or defect to the party! We are all suffering today because of their confused leadership. With the coming PDP presidency in 2023, Igbo people will have no choice than to remain happily in Nigeria.”
Reacting against the above backdrop, one of the leaders of IPOB who spoke to Orient Daily on condition of anonymity, submitted uncompromisingly:
“Can you trust the Fulani Oligarchs? Who told you that southeast will produce the president of Nigeria come 2023? How long shall they continue to deceive us? All we want is Biafra and nothing more.”
