Ilaje community congratulates Akeredolu, deputy
An Ondo state, citizen-led pressure group, The Ilaje Development Summit Group, has congratulated the Ondo state governor, Rotimi Akeredolu, SAN, and his deputy governor-elect, Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, on their recent success at the October 10, 2020 governorship election in the state.
In a statement the group issued on Wednesday by its executive administrator, Rev. Sola Adebawo, the IDSG described the governor’s victory as “a clear statement of trust by the people of Ondo state and a reflection of the sound judgment in the selection of Lucky Aiyedatiwa (a distinguished Ilaje son) as running mate.”
He said that the Ilaje local government area was only next to the governor’s Owo local government area in the quantum of votes garnered by the successful gubernatorial ticket of Akeredolu and Aiyedatiwa, a development he ascribed to “the unanimous support of Ilaje people for the in-coming administration in the 44-year-old Ondo state.
The group expressed their hope for genuine and urgent focus on Ilaje for what it called “sustainable development in neglected infrastructure and other key areas such as health, education, economy, electricity etc. in fulfilment of the election promises and in alignment with the aspiration of our people.”
IDSG prides itself in offering sustainable solutions to strategic governance problems, even as it remains unaffiliated, politically religiously, made up, as it is, of Ilaje sons and daughters in Nigeria and in different countries around the world.
The administrator said traditional rulers, women and youths across all the kingdoms of Ilaje land had, before the election, spoken with one voice in forging support for the candidature of Governor Akeredolu and his then running mate.
