PDP Constitutes Ebonyi State Caretaker Committee

National Working Committee of the people’s Democratic party has announced Elder Fred Udogu as the Chairman caretaker committee of the party in Ebonyi State.
This is coming after the state Governor Engr David Umahi on Tuesday addressed journalists in Abakaliki on his planned DEFECTION to the All progressive Congress APC, an event slated to hold on Thursday at the Ecumenical Center Abakaliki.
Correspondent reports that there is uneasy calm in the State as the former State Executive of the party led by Barr Onyekachi Nwebonyi which was dissolved Tuesday November 17, 2020 threatened to go to court to seek a redress.
A statement by the PDP National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan also appointed other members of the Exco to fill in other positions.
The statement reads: “Following the dissolution of the Ebonyi State Exco of our great party, the National Working Committee (NWC) has constituted a state caretaker committee to pilot the affairs of the party in Ebonyi state in line with the provisions of the constitution of the PDP.
Members of the Ebonyi state caretaker committee are;
- Hon. Fred Udeogu – Chairman
- Barr. Luke Nkwegu – Secretary
- Dr. Gideon Osi – Publicity Secretary
- Hon. James Alaka – Organizing Secretary
- Mrs. Amaka Igboke – Women Leader
- Barr Mudi Irenede – Legal Adviser
- Barr. Ibeshi – Youth Leader
“The decision of the NWC in this regard is pursuant to the powers conferred on it by the provisions of the PDP Constitution (2017 as amended).
“All our leaders, members and teeming supporters in Ebonyi state and the southeast are by this guided accordingly”
