Nwakali joins Alcorcon on 6-month loan deal
Spanish Segunda side, Alcorcon, has signed Kelechi Nwakali on a six-month loan, meaning the Huesca midfield enforcer will spend the remainder of the season in the second-tier league side, Orient Sports reports.
Nwakali captained Nigeria Golden Eaglets to World Cup triumph at the FIFACU17 World Cup finals in Chile 2015.
He also captained the U20s Flying Eagles as well as the U23 Olympic Eagles.
After the U17 World Cup success in Chile 2015, Nwakali moved to English Premier League side, Arsenal, on a £2.5m deal.
However, he did not get to test action at the Emirates Stadium as he was loaned to several clubs in Europe in a bid to fast track his development.
Last season he helped Huesca to pick a LaLiga ticket and has earned a few game chance before his latest loan move.
The 22-year-old is sent out on loan by Huesca for him to earn regular playing time with the aim of equipping him for a bigger role at Huesca next season.
Huesca is ironically a strong candidate for relegation following poor returns so far in the top flight.
Huesca confirmed Nwakalu’s loan move to the Madrid based Alcorcon.
