Nigeria’s Ayinde voted club player of the year

Super Falcons midfielder, Halimatu Ayinde has been voted Eskilstuna United Player of the Year at Swedish Damallsvenskan club, Orient Sports reports.
Ayinde, played a pivotal role in the middle of the pack for the Swedish side, Eskilstuna United in the just-concluded season alongside her compatriot, Ngozi Sonia Okobi-Ekeoghene.
The duo is good combination for their club as Ayinde assisted Okobi in scoring one of her four league goals for Eskilstuna United.
“This year’s player award for Eskilstuna United 2020 goes to Halimatu Ayinde. The importance of Halimatu’s large work effort combined with a large defensive responsibility in United’s midfield cannot be underestimated. Her physical achievement and football skills required for the game is very impressive,” according to Eskilstuna United.
Meanwhile, Ayinde has played for the likes of Delta Queens, Western New York Flash, FC Minsk and was part of the Nigeria national team (Super Falcons) at the 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup and the winning squad at the 2014 African Women’s Championship.
She also took part at the 2018 African Women Cup of Nations, AWCON, and 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup in France.
Orient Sports reports that Eskilstuna United are occupying 10th position on the Swedish Damallsvenskan table of last season, with 23 points in 22 games
