While announcing the results of the election at the CBN building on Wednesday November 9, 2022, the deputy vice-chancellor (Academic), Prof. Frederick Odibo, who presided over the election, described the election as free, credible and orderly, and congratulated the contestants for their sportsmanship.

Prof. Odibo hailed the conduct of staff of education throughout the electioneering period and called on other faculties to borrow a leaf from the faculty of education, which, according to him, was the mother faculty of all other faculties. He also thanked the outgone acting dean, Dr. Isaac Nwankwo for his astuteness and doggedness throughout his period.

At the election, Prof. Odibo was accompanied by the university registrar, Barr. Philomena Okoye, who was represented by the deputy registrar (personnel), Mr. Sam Ufoh.

In her acceptance speech, the dean-elect, Prof. Nwogbo promised that her administration would be inclusive, carrying everyone along in the process. She said, “Thank you for the confidence you repose in me to serve you as the dean of this great faculty. I’m not taking this trust for granted and I promise to carry everyone along.

“I will run an inclusive administration that would ensure that both the young and old members of this faculty would be put in the scheme of things. Your welfare and that of the students remain sacrosanct to this new administration.

“I therefore ask you to join me in pushing this faculty forward. Be partners in progress so that we can achieve our envisaged goal of repositioning this great faculty of ours”, she appealed.

He also thanked Prof. Anthony Nweke-Ezeh, who, he said, gave him the opportunity to serve as the sub dean of education faculty.
