Politics over, works now on course to develop Edo – Obaseki

The Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, yesterday, urged citizens of the State to jettison politics and politicking and partner with the government in realizing its ‘Make Edo State Great Again ( MEGA), agenda aimed at improving livehoods and ensuring economic prosperity for all citizens of the State.
Obaseki who spoke to Journalists in the State’s capital, Benin said that his administration was focusing on education, healthcare and electricity, reassuring that everyone would be carried along in his Government adding, “The electioneering campaigns are over, and I can’t permanently be in a political mood: now we can have a government. We can’t continue to play politics for politics sake but use the government to advance the cause of the people. When it’s time to play politics, we play politics; but now it’s time for development and we are using the government to create opportunities for our people”
Reassuring of his administration’s commitment to ensure that development, reconstruction of all access roads linking the area to open it up for economic development, the Governor said, “We are currently working on the Ekemwan road axis. We are in talks with the Niger Delta Development Commission, ( NDDC) for the termination of the Udo-Ofunama road to enable us to take over and hopefully by this dry season, the contractor will be mobilized to site.
Meanwhile, following the signing of a Joint Venture Agreement, ( JVA) on the AMES Edo Inland container Dry port between the Edo State Government and the Atlantique Marine and Engineering Services ( AMES), promoters of the project, the firm met with the stakeholders and prospective port users in Edo State to seek improved partnerships ahead of the commencement of operations. Engr Charles Akhigbe who spoke to Journalists in Benin City said that AMES Edo Inland container would improve the livelihoods of persons in the state
