The police in Ogun state have arrested three members of Supreme Vikens confraternity for allegedly torturing one Celestin Oyebuchi to initiate him as one of their members.
The suspects: Omoori a.k.a Tension, Edet Godswill and Emmanuel Dimgba were arrested on July 8, 2021.
They were arrested following a report at Igbesa police station that the trio abducted and took him to an uncompleted building where he was tortured and forced to join their confraternity.
The victim told the police that the suspects after torturing him gave him blood to drink as a sign of initiation
The police public relations officer, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, confirmed this to newsmen in Abeokuta, the state capital.
Oyeyemi said that the DPO, Igbesa Division, SP Abayomi Adeniji, upon the report quickly mobilised and detailed his men to go after the suspects.
They were subsequently apprehended at their hideout within Igbesa community.
“On interrogation, the three suspects confessed being members of Supreme Vikens confraternity; that they were looking for more members to join them which led them to the abduction of the complainant who may not want to join them through persuasion.”
Meanwhile, the commissioner of police, CP Edward Awolowo Ajogun, has ordered the immediate transfer of the suspects to anti cultists section of the state criminal investigation and intelligence department for discreet investigation.
The CP also warned that the war against cultism in the state was a continuous one, urging those who want to renounce their membership to do so on time before nemesis caught up with them.
