PDP will win Edo 2020 gubernatorial election – Ex-spokesman
By Francis Ogbuagu
Former Publicity Secretary of PDP in Edo state, Prince Francis Iyasere, has declared that the PDP will certainly win the 2020 gubernatorial election in Edo state come September 19.
He made this assertion in Benin City, the Edo state capital while interacting with our correspondent via the telephone.
According to him, Edo people are tired of the All Progressive Congress and their constant fights, and they have promised to vote the PDP come September 19.
He also refuted the rumours making the rounds that PDP collected N8 billion from Governor Ibaseki and his deputy, Shaibu, before allowing them to fly the flag of the party.
Hear him: “I don’t understand, a man who could not give his party (APC) money, which warranted them chasing him around could now suddenly dole out N8 billion? Sometimes, I feel that people are day dreaming. As long as I am concerned, there was no exchange of money whatsoever.
“As I said earlier, the PDP is coming from an angle of opposition for the past 13 years, so, we have to threw away our own ambitions and embrace the reality on ground. Even, when people like Rt. Hon. Omoregie Ogbiede-Ihama, who had been sponsoring the PDP for the past two years went to court, we supported him; but there was a round table resolution, which had in attendance the south south PDP governors and some friendly northern PDP governors, and you can’t have such persons coming to beg you and you will insist on your refusal.”
