Gunmen after my life – Ex-lawmaker, Josiah Oluwafemi
A former member of Oyo state House of Assembly, Hon. Josiah Oluwafemi has raised the alarm over an alleged plot to eliminate him by some unknown gunmen.
Last Monday, the lawmaker claimed he narrowly escaped death by the whiskers when six armed men visited his store at about 9.45pm at Sango area of Ibadan.
Oluwafemi told newsmen in Ibadan on Thursday that he would have been killed by the armed gang on Monday if not for divine intervention.
The matter which he said was being investigated by policemen at the Sango Police station where it was reported caused stir at the busy Sango market when the armed men chased the lawmaker who escaped through the back fence.
Narrating his ordeal, Oluwafemi said ” at about 9.45pm this Monday , I was inside my store when two men suddenly entered the store through the main door. As I looked at the men , I was agitated because they were just standing at the door without the intention of buying anything.
” So, I quickly got up and tried to take the second door out, but surprisingly, I saw another two men standing at the door. Then , I made a u-turn immediately to take the other route out ,I also met two men . At this point, the two men ran after me, pulling out a gun, but I moved faster and ran inside a room and locked the door at the back, from there I had to jump a wall fence to escape. ”
Some cell phones and cash, he stated were carted away by the armed men who made frantic effort to get him, but failed.
