Gov. AbdulRazaq, Speaker commiserate with Chief Imam over wife’s death
The death of the wife of the Chief of Imam of Ilorin, Sheikh Muhammad Bashir has sparked reactions and condolences from across Kwara State.
The death of Alhaja Hafsot Bashir came as a rude shock to all as announced early morning on Saturday.
Gov. AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara has therefore commiserated with the chief imam and family as conveyed i in his condolence message through his Chief Press Secretary , Mr Rafiu Ajakaye in llorin on Saturday, described the incident as sad.
“On behalf of the people and government of Kwara, I send my heartfelt condolences to the Chief Imam and the entire family on this very sad news.
” It is one tragedy too many, but we are consoled by the inevitability of death, the decree of Allah who gives and takes life, and the obligation for believers to submit to His Will under whatever shades,” the governor said.
He prayed the Almighty Allah to forgive Alhaja Hafsot her shortcomings, admit her into Al-Jannah Firdaus and give members of the family of the Chief lmam the fortitude to bear the loss.

AbdulRadaq similarly prayed Allah to comfort the Chief Imam and his family, and grant everyone succeeding Alhaja longer life and the grace to continue to serve Allah..
In the same vein, the Speaker of the Kwara House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Yakubu Danladi in a condolence message, described the death of Hajia Hafsot Bashir as a great loss.
The speaker in his condolence message through his Chief Press Secretary, Abdulkadir Shehu commiserated with the Chief Imam and his family over what he described as an unfortunate incident.
“It is indeed a colossal loss to the Chief Imam of Ilorin and his family, our prayers are with Shaikh Muhammad Solihu Imam Bashir in this very trying moment of his spousal loss.
“On behalf of the Ninth Assembly, I sympathize with the Chief Imam and his entire family, may Allah comfort them, I also pray to Almighty Allah to forgive and grant Hajia Bashir Al-Jannah Firdaus,” the speaker said.
Late Hafsot Bashir died in llorin on Friday at the age of 61 and was buried on Friday in accordance with lslamic rites.
