Full Gospel Businessmen honours UNIZIK DVC, Ikechebelu
The Full Gospel Business Men’s Fellowship International, FGBMFI, Awka, Royal Chapter last weekend organised a strategic breakfast outreach in honour of the deputy vice chancellor [Administration] at the Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Prof. Joseph Ikechebelu.
The event, which held in Awka, the Anambra state capital, came barely three years after Professor Charles Esimone, now UNIZIK vice chancellor, was honoured by the same fellowship.
The Full Gospel Business Men’s Fellowship International is a congregation of laymen and women, founded over 65 years ago with a common aim of winning souls for Christ.
Speaking at the banquet, the chapter president of the FGBMFI, Engr Christian Onwubalili, said the strategic outreach was to recognise and honour their member who he said had contributed greatly to society.

He stated that Full Gospel Business Men’s Fellowship International is a global movement of Lay Christian Professionals founded in 1951 with the objective of bringing together Men and Women to pray for the well-being of mankind.
According to him, the vision of the FGBMFI is to reach out and bring back the ordinary, middle level and high-level Businessmen and women again unto Jesus Christ. He opined that, the Fellowship comprise of prominent business men and Women with integrity who desired to give all the glory to God through their services to humanity.
Elated by the honorary award, Ikechebelu thanked the FGBMFI Awka Chapter but insisted that the greatest achievement was being where he is because of God.
Ikechebelu, a professor of obstetrics and gynaecology, said he achieved everything in his life because God touched his life and used him as an instrument. He enjoined Christians to allow God to touch and take over their lives.
While he charged Christians members not to miss an encounter with Christ, he disclosed that the two greatest things that had happened in his life were his encounter with Christ and getting married to his beautiful wife.
He challenged Christians to be steadfast in serving God so that God will moderate their lives. He also urged them to maintain their integrity and remember that God in their life is an answer to all problems.
Earlier, while preaching through testimony sharing, Esimone, said that man must abide by the word of God to be considered honourable before God.
Esimone who drew his sermon from Psalm 49: 12 & 20 decried that man often ascribed honour to worldly wisdom, power and riches. He said that there was wanton quest for worldly honour among the Christian fold, hence the neglect for that which God considered honour to man.
The VC, himself a pastor with the Deeper Life Bible Church, emphasised that God did not create man in the same category as beasts, the reason every activity of man must give glory to God. He stressed that wisdom had made men forget that they were still creatures of God, reminding them that wisdom that did not glorify God was worse than a beast.
