Former Rivers CAN chairman consoles Christians over Joshua, Akinola deaths
Former chairman of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) as well as former chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in Rivers state, Apostle Eugene Ogu, has condoled with Nigerian Christians over the seat of two popular men of in a space of less than 24 hours.
Nigerians were still morning the sudden demise of Prophet T. B Joshua, founder of the Synagogue Church of all Nations on Saturday evening when, on Sunday afternoon, the news of the death of Rev. Stephen Akinola, General Superintendent of Redemption Ministries, Worldwide, Port Harcourt was announced.
Confirming Akinola’s passage, Ogu, who is the founder and General Overseer of Abundant Life Ministries, Worldwide headquartered in Port Harcourt, said Akinola had laboured so much for the body of Christ.
Ogu said; “Yes, it is a very sad day for the Christian community. We were talking of Prophet T.B Joshua then the next thing, Akinola!
“It is so sad. I pray that God comforts the entire body of Christ because he (Akinola) had laboured so much for the body of Christ; that his soul rests in peace and God condoles the body of Christ and his family,” he prayed.

News of Akinola’s passing filtered in just as Nigeria and the world were mourning Joshua who died in wee hours of Sunday.
Akinola was said to have undergone a kidney transplant sometime, though the cause of his death could not be ascertained as at the time of filing this report.
It was gathered that many worshippers, including members of his congregation and residents, had thronged to the church which has its headquarters in Port Harcourt to mourn the famous cleric.
