Eid-El-Kabir: 1,170 officers for crash-free celebration in Anambra – FRSC
The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Anambra State, has deployed a total of 1,170 personnel comprising both regular and special marshals state-wide for traffic control and rescue operations during the Eid-El-Kabir Sallah celebration.
The Sector Commander, Corps Commander Adeoye Irelewuyi, made the disclosure in Awka, while addressing officers and marshals of the command.
He explained that the command would collaborate with other sister agencies to ensure the Eid-El-Kabir Sallah would be crash-free celebration.
He said, “In view of the anticipated traffic volume increase as a result of the Eid-El-Kabir Sallah celebration, on Tuesday, 20th July, 2021, Anambra Sector Command has deployed one thousand, one hundred and seventy (1,170) personnel comprising both regular and special marshals state-wide for traffic control and rescue operations.
“All RTC prone areas and flash points known for traffic gridlock will be manned. All resources of the command in terms of Tow Truck, Ambulances, has been deployed at strategic points in the State to clear any obstruction and deliver prompt rescue services to road traffic crashes.”
The FRSC boss warned motorists to desist from all traffic infractions during the period, especially driving against traffic, drunk driving, use of phone while driving, excessive speeding and overloading.
He also extended his warm greetings to all Muslim faithful as they celebrate the year’s Eid-El-Kabir Sallah, enjoining them to call 122 toll free lines in case of crash or gridlock.
