Delta police nab 3 suspected cultists, gun runner, recover arms
The directive issued by the commissioner of police in Delta state, CP Ari Muhammed Ali, to DPOs and tactical commanders to carry out continuous raiding of black spot in order for sanity to be restored peaceful coexistence in the state has again paid off with the arrest of three suspected cult members and a gun runner in the Jesse area of the state on Tuesday
According to a statement by the acting police public relations office (PPRO) in the state, DSP Edafe Bright, “three suspected cultists namely, Onomua Victor ‘m’ age 29 years, Saturday ‘m’ surname Unknown, and Ibru Adegbor all from Jesse were arrested” on May 25, 2021.

Bright said that “on investigation and interrogation, they confessed to be members of Aro Bagger confraternity, and that the cult leader who is on the run is in possession of their arm which they call ‘tool’ popularly known as cut-to-size gun,” adding that “on further interrogation, they confessed that one Francis Ogono ‘m’ aged 42, was to be their gun supplier who is also from Jesse that allegedly sold the gun to their cult group.”
Furthermore, the police PRO said on Tuesday, that their men went after the said gun runner and had him arrested.

According to the police, items recovered from him included one single-barrel gun and several tools used in the production of cut-to-size guns, adding that investigation was ongoing.
