Anambra: NSCDC tasks 157 promoted officers

A total of 157 officers of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Anambra State, were, on Monday, decorated following their promotion to various ranks as reflected in the 2020 promotion exercise by the Civil Defence, Fire, Immigration and Correctional Services Board (CDFICB).

The officers included 9 Deputy Commandants, 19 Assistant Commandants, 10 Chief Superintendents of Corps, 5 Superintendents of Corps, 77 Deputy Superintendents of Corps as well as 18 Assistant Superintendent of Corps I and 19 Assistant Superintendent of Corps II, respectively, with insignias of  their new ranks. 

Addressing the newly promoted officers, the NSCDC State Commandant, David Bille, urged them to reciprocate the gesture by redoubling their efforts towards fighting crimes and exhibiting high level of professionalism.

He also charged them to be civil to members of the public and respect for human rights in the discharge of their duties.

Bille, who congratulated them on behalf of the Commandant-General, Dr Ahmed Audi, reminded the beneficiaries that their new ranks meant bigger responsibilities on their shoulders, and challenged them to make positive choices and strides in their line of duty.

Responding on behalf of the newly promoted officers, DCC Barnabas Ejiofor thanked the Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, the Commandant-General of NSCDC and board members for finding them worthy of the promotion, promising to redouble their efforts towards serving the nation with integrity.

Among the newly promoted officers were DCC Udezulu Ndubuisi of the Head Operations Department (SHQ), Awka; DCC Kazzah Joseph Peter, Area Commander, Area ‘A’, Onitsha; DCC Uju Okafor, Head of Disaster Unit; ACC Amadi Marcel of Intelligence and Investigation Department, SHQ, Awka, together with CSC Onyebuchi Onwuteaka Head of Anti-Vandal Unit, and Command Public Relations Officer, DSC Okadigbo Edwin.
