Some gunmen have reportedly kidnapped four farmers in Ikosun-Ekiti in Moba local government area of Ekiti state.
Orient Daily gathered that the farmers were kidnapped while working on their farmland in the area.
The traditional ruler of the town, Oba Joseph Afolabi Adeoye, who confirmed the abduction to Orient Daily, explained that the farmers – Gbadamosi Sarafa, Jimoh, Yinka Adeniran and Seun – were all kidnapped at the Agric Farm Settlement between 5 and 6 pm on Monday, while they were working inside their farm.
The monarch further explained that two of those kidnapped, Seun and Jimoh, were said to be bulldozer operators working in the farm as at the time they were said to have been abducted, along with two others and that they were taken to an unknown destination.
All efforts to speak with the police public relations officer, Ekiti state command, ASP Sunday Abutu, were unsuccessful as he did not respond to all calls and text messages to his mobile lines as at the time of filing this report.
