A disturbing trend among employment racketeers has been discovered by the headquarters of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, which has alerted job-seekers to be mindful of those they patronise.

The commandant general of the agency, Ahmed Audi, has promptly set up a committee of enquiry to investigate individuals and groups of persons behind fake 2019/2021 replacement and recruitment supplementary list currently in circulation on many platforms on the social media.

The purported list of successful applicants for NSCDC job going viral, was alleged to have come as a shocking news to the corps which said it has not released or published any recruitment list whatsoever.

Ahmed Audi described the fake, “mischievous, misleading and perfidious” saying the list was capable of sending wrong signals to Nigerians especially applicants from different parts of the country.

The corps said however that to set the record straight, it unequivocally denies that the list emanated from the corps nor the board in-charge of Civil Defence, Fire, Immigration and Correctional Service and blamed it on the handwork of “unscrupulous elements who are taking advantage of the economic situation in the country to defraud unsuspecting members of the public.”

The statement which was signed by the head of media, DCC Olusola Odumosu

advised members of the public to disregard the fake recruitment list as a ploy by nefarious individuals and mischief makers who are eager to defraud innocent job seekers, some of whom have already parted with different amounts of money in their desperation for NSCDC recruitment.

He said the CG reiterated that the NSCDC recruitment list will be published in the mainstream media once it is ready and assured Nigerians that in due cause, the perpetrators of the callous act shall be nabbed and made to face the full wrath of the law.
