Lawmaker donates sports equipment to ANSPOLY

The immediate past member representing Awka North and South Federal Constituency and Deputy Chairman, House Committee on Sports, Federal House of Representatives, Hon. Anayo Nnebe, has donated sports equipment to Anambra State Polytechnic, Mgbakwu (ANSPOLY).
The items include a pair of FIFA standard football goal post, a set of football jersey, twelve pairs of football booths, a leather football, one hand pump, a pair of goal keeper jersey, two pairs of track suits and two pairs of canvas shoes, Orient Daily reports.
While handing over the items to the Public Relations Officer and director of sports unit of the polytechnic, Mr. Sunday Okagbue Anipr, on behalf of the rector, Dr. Nneka Mefoh, the benefactor said that the donation was part of his contribution to sports development in the polytechnic.
Nnebe assured of his continuous support for the young polytechnic in its quest to get the best in line with the mission and vision of Governor Willie Obiano in establishing the state-owned polytechnic.
Responding, the rector commended the benefactor for the kind gesture, assuring that the items would be prudently used for the intended purpose. She prayed for God’s protection and blessing on the donor.
Mefoh called on other well meaning and good-spirited individuals to join hands with Gov. Obiano to move the polytechnic to an enviable height.
Responding on behalf of the students, the ANSPOLY Students Union Government Sports Director, Daniel Akalauwa, appreciated Hon. Anayo Nnebe for the gesture and prayed for God’s blessings upon him.
